AkzoNobel
AkzoNobel is world leader in the development and production of a broad range of paints, coatings and special chemicals. It operates in eighty different countries. Since 2008, Involve has worked for them on several projects, including internal branding, project communications, cultural and change programs:
- Following the launch of their new brand 'Tomorrow's World Today', which included a new name and logo as well as new corporate values, Involve helped the company to create brand engagement worldwide. We developed a global interactive brand engagement program that allowed the company to implement its new brand internally across the world. We purposefully involved communication professionals and managers world wide in the development of the program, so it would fit their everyday context as well as align with existing projects. Given the diversity of needs, we created flexible tools and helped arrange local support from Communications and HRM.
- Strategy communications: to help AkzoNobel's Technology and Engineering division communicate their new strategy, we developed a visual 'learning map' that helped managers and employees to discuss the strategy and translate it to their own responsibilities. The team sessions dedicated to this in turn formed the start of a behavioral change program.
- The sessions provided input for the development of a program aimed at generating a pro-active attitude and way of working in the division. A series of meetings were then set up where employees and managers could discuss their new roles or get to know other departments in order to stimulate cooperation, which was an important element of achieving the new strategy. With Involve's advice, the division could further work at adopting the targeted behaviour.
- When AkzoNobel decided to standardize the IT hardware and service facilities across its locations worldwide, Involve was asked to take on the project communications. We developed a plan for Project Unity, based on our ten-step plan for project communications, which focused on specific communicators and means per groups of people in the company. To ensure consistency in messaging, we created a toolkit that was discussed with all business units and could be adapted locally if needed.
